These rules apply to Eccentrix Dot Com and all affiliated servers.
Listed below are web practices which, when
discovered by our staff, can result in your entire web site being deleted,
possibly without prior notice. Please read very carefully.
Please be sure to login to the file manager at least once every 90 days. If you usually upload files through an ftp program you will not get credit for logging in, for the 2 areas do not "talk" to each other. The only way you will get credit for updating your site is if you login to the file manager so please don't make the mistake of forgetting to do so. Your site will be deleted automatically after 90 days of no updates.
- What file types are allowed?

- Are sites really deleted for bad language?

- Can we write pages about other people?

The file types which will be the only ones allowed at Eccentrix are:
.art, .bmp, .class, .css, .dcr, .dhtm, .dhtml, .doc, .gif, .htm, .html, .ico, .jar, .java, .jpeg, .jpg, .js, .mdb, .mid, .midi, .pdf, .png, .ppt, .psd, .psp, .pyrabak, .scm, .swf, .txt, .wav, .xls, and .xml
We will not be adding any other file types to this list for Eccentrix.

We are a family safe server and as such we do not allow any form of nudity, period. This includes realistic drawings that portray nudity of anime, cartoons or anything along that nature.

As a family safe server, we will not allow you to UPLOAD, POST, EMAIL, OTHERWISE TRANSMIT OR POST LINKS to any content that is unlawful, pornographic, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tormenting, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, hateful, or racially, sexually, ethnically or otherwise objectionable. This includes anything that displays full frontal nudity, genitals, any form of child pornography, any content that exploits the images of children under 18 years of age, any content that could harm or harass minors in any other way. You may not "stalk" or otherwise harass another person in any way. You may not make any sexual request on behalf of a minor. This type of site will be immediately deleted!

As stated above, we are a family safe server. However, we are listening to our members and therefore we have hopefully come up with a couple of solutions for you. If you feel you must use "colorful" language we would ask that you would at least use asterisks ie. sh*t, to bleep the word out. Some of our younger members would then be protected somewhat from language they shouldn't see. Another solution we have come up with is for you to check out Pluh Extreme which is also an affiliate of Eccentrix. The rules there are a bit more lenient for those of you who would like a little more freedom to express yourselves.

The answer is a firm NO! You may not UPLOAD, POST, EMAIL, OTHERWISE TRANSMIT OR POST LINKS to any content that promotes illegal activity, instructions for illegal activity, facilitates hacking, promotes "spam" emails, "junk mail", chain letters, computer viruses, illegal software, hacked software, serial numbers, mail fraud, pyramid schemes, multiple level marketing also known as "MLM", password collection scams, infringes any patent, trademark, service mark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights ("Rights") of any party, or contributing to inducing or facilitating such infringement.
This prohibition shall include, without limitation, the following forms of software piracy:
1--Making available serial numbers for software that can be used to illegally
validate or register software.
2--Making available tools that can be used for no purpose other than for
"cracking" software or other copyrighted Content.
3--Making available any software files for which the user does not own the
copyright or have the legal right to make available.
4--Making available copyrighted software or other Content that has had the
copyright protection removed.
These things will get your site deleted immediately!

A ROM is a copy of a game from the likes of Nintendo, Sony Playstation, etc. Again, this is copyright infringement and as such we do not allow it nor do we allow direct links to those files on another server.

Yes you can, but you cannot include material insulting to another person(s), Company, Group of people, or Religious group, material that could be considered defamatory, or libelous, blatant expressions of bigotry, racism, hatred, EXTREME foul language, or profanity. You may not promote physical harm, or injury against any group or individual.
You may not sell, distribute, or make any commercial use of data obtained from any of our databases or make any other use of data from any of our databases in a manner which could be expected to offend the person for whom the data is relevant.

We do not allow MP3's or direct links also known as "hotlinking" to specific MP3 files. You may however, provide links to servers that house MP3 players outside Eccentrix Dot Com and any of it's affiliates as long as those servers are not linked to warez or porn. Link to the page only, not to the actual MP3 file. Links to individual MP3's will constitute a breaking of the rules.

First let's explain what that means. When you create a portal it is also known as a "gateway site". This means we are providing a front door to another server for you and this will not be allowed at Eccentrix. While on this subject we also do not allow "warehousing". What this means is that you are storing files on our server and calling them up on another server through "hotlinking". We cannot allow this for it is unfair use of our bandwidth. You shouldn't "hotlink" from other servers either for that is stealing their bandwidth. Meaning that, rather than linking directly to a file, you should make a link to the site and let your visitor find the file on that site. We will delete any site that we come across that says it has moved and leaves only a link to the new site.

Yes, there's no problem for multiple accounts, as long as you follow two simple rules. The first and most important is that each site must have separate content. You cannot get another account simply to expand your other one(s). This means you should not link files between the two. It's all right to have links from one to the other in the manner of "for more, check my other site __" but each account must be able to stand on it's own if all your other accounts are taken away. Secondly, in order to make a new account at all, you must use a different email account from the original you signed up with. If you only have one email account, you can simply make an account at a free email provider and use that.

regarding any raffle, contest or game requiring a fee of real money from the participants.

There is NO hotlinking allowed from Eccentrix's free accounts to anywhere.

We do not allow advertising, offering for sale, or selling any of the following items:
- Any firearms, explosives, or weapons.
- Any food that is not packaged or does not comply with all laws
governing the sale of food to consumers by commercial merchants.
- Any alcoholic beverages.
- Any tobacco products for human consumption, including, without
limitation, cigarettes and cigars.
- Any items that are indecent or obscene, that contain child pornography,
that are otherwise pornographic in nature, or are harmful to minors.
- Any controlled substances or pharmaceuticals.
- Any items that are counterfeit or stolen.
- Any dangerous items.
- Any goods or services that do not, in fact, exist.
- Any registered or unregistered securities.
- Any items that violate or infringe the rights of other parties.
- Any items that you do not have the legal right to sell.
- Auctions cannot be held on Eccentrix but you can link to
reputable auctions such as ebay or ubid and many others out there.

This is something new we are going to try as long as it doesn't get abused. You will be allowed to password protect your forums, guestbooks and club pages. However, that being said, anything that is password protected must still follow the rules and if we find within your files that you are not following the rules, your site will be deleted. This includes hiding images that would be unacceptable or any of the aforementioned items in previous rules.

Yes you can! Before the implementation of the banners, you were required to use a redirect code in order to do this. You no longer have to use that redirect code if your site resides on the Eccentrix paid accounts server. However, if your site is on Eccentrix free sites, the redirect codes are still required.

There are a few more things we do not allow. These include:
- You may not impersonate any person or entity, including, but not limited to, Eccentrix Dot Com officials, employees, volunteers, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
- You may not collect or store personally identifying information about other users for commercial or unlawful purposes.
- You may not UPLOAD, POST, EMAIL, OTHERWISE TRANSMIT, OR POST LINKS to any material that contains software viruses, worms, trojan horses, time bombs, trap doors or any other computer code, files or programs or repetitive requests for information designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment or to diminish the quality of, interfere with the performance of, or impair the functionality of our servers.
- You cannot create and maintain a web page that has multiple pop-ups. These are extremely annoying to your visitors and we will not allow this. We also request that you not use scripts that prevent a person from leaving the page by means of using their "back" or "forward" buttons on their browsers.
- You may not intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law, including, but not limited to, regulations made by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, any rules of any national or other securities exchange, including, without limitation, the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange or the NASDAQ, and any regulations having the force of law.

No you may not move the banner. It must remain at the top of your page or in the popup frame. Our advertisers will not allow anything but the very top of the page. If you find a way to move or hide the banner from your pages, your site will be breaking the rules and could be deleted.

We are not required to give you a warning as stated in our policies. However, if we feel your site can be fixed, it will be put on hold for a total of 5 days. In that time period you MUST post in the forums to have your site released from hold. If we do not hear from you within the 5 days, your site will be deleted. It is suggested that you back up your site on your hard drive for this reason. We do not return sites once they have been deleted. If we feel you are blatantly breaking our rules we will delete the site without that 5 day on hold period. There will be no warning at all for those sites which contain porn or warez!

Your best bet would be to try out the forums first. The forums are a message board community for Eccentrix members to post on. They include such useful items as a board for Technical Support, a General Feedback board, an Announcement board, a Hot Topics board for discussion, and a Promote Board for promoting your Eccentrix sites. Every member should consider looking at them at least once. Click here to go to them. You must register at the forums in order to post and some boards may only be viewed by registered members. The reason for this registration is that the forums are on a separate server and do not recognise your member name from your website account.
Please understand that we are all volunteers and "real life" sometimes has a way of taking up more of our online time than we would like. We could also be very busy helping another member such as yourself, so please be patient. We are here to help you and make your stay as pleasant as we possibly can.

Eccentrix Dot Com may modify these rules upon notice published online via Eccentrix Dot Com. Customer's use of Eccentrix Dot Com services after such notice shall constitute Customer's acceptance of the modifications to these policies.
